This shot is from the south end of the dam, the 3 red flags at the bottom indicate top of dam on this side. Donna (waving her arms) is at the same spot on the opposing hillside. The core area is visible at the valley. The plan is to have the dam curve, bulging to the right of frame and pushing into the pond basin area. Often, a dam is built to bulge away from the pond area to increase the size of the water surface. We chose the opposite because the basin is sizeable andwe need as much space as possible BEHIND the dam (to the left) to waste soil.
